Work Plan for Characterization and Remediation of Stockpiled Soils July 30, 1992 <br /> Manna Pro Facility, 4004 EI Dorado Street, Stockton, CA 3 <br /> Iwork plan that was approved by San Joaquin County An addendum to the re-excavation work plan, <br /> calling for the removal of 5000 cubic yards of soil, was filed with San Joaquin County on September <br /> 12, 1990. In actuality, a total of approximately 4,000 cubic yards was excavated <br /> Before proceeding with additional excavation, O'Melveny &. Myers (legal council for Manna Pro) <br /> contracted with ERM-West, Inc (ERM) to review the status of the work performed to date and <br /> provide a recommendation for further work at the site The initial assessment work performed by <br />' ERM, completed in October 1990, consisted of trenching and soil sampling within the excavation <br /> area Additional excavation of the site was performed on October 11, 1990, under the September <br />' 12, 1990 work plan <br /> To further assess the extent of petroleum hydrocarbon occurrence in the subsurface soils and <br /> groundwater at the site, ERM conducted sod and groundwater sampling at the facility during <br /> November and December 1990 Twenty five sod borings were installed in the area of the excavation, <br /> and the existing soil stockpiles were sampled to identify clean and hydrocarbon impacted soils <br /> Details of this soil and groundwater investigation, as well as a discussion of the results of other <br /> previous investigations are presented in the ERM report titled Soil and Groundwater Investigation at <br /> Manna Pro, Inc Facility, dated December 1990 (Appendix A) <br /> The location p Figure I of the soils stockpiled on site are shown on Fi ure 2 of this report and Figure 1-3, <br /> Appendix A The analytical results for soil samples collected from the six soil stockpiles at the site <br /> by ERM in November 1990 are summarized in Table 3-3, Appendix A Stockpile 2 was not included <br /> In the sampling program because it is clean granular fill material Concentrations of TPH-as-diesel <br /> ranged from 9 3 ppm to 18 ppm in the soil samples collected from Stockpile 1 A concentration of <br /> TPH-as-gasoline was only detected In one sod sample from Stockpile 1 at 3 ppm Concentrations of <br /> TPH-as-diesel ranged from 33 ppm to 1,100 ppm (averaging approximately 250 ppm) in the samples <br /> collected from Stockpiles 3 through 6 Concentrations of TPH-as-gasoline ranged from <1 ppm to <br /> I15 ppm in the soil samples collected from Stockpiles 3 through 6 <br /> Additional soil characterization work was performed on samples collected from the stockpiled sod in <br /> I June 1991 Sixteen soil samples were collected and composited to eight samples for TTLC analysis <br /> for lead, cadmium, chromium and zinc The results indicated no elevated concentrations of these <br /> GROUNDWATER <br /> p_� TECHNOLOGY, INC <br />
