o INHALATION : Vapors or mist may cause irritation of the nose <br /> and throat, headache, nausea , vomiting, dizziness , drowsiness, <br /> suphoria, loss of coordination, and disorientation. In poorly <br /> r...- ventilated areas or confined spaces, unconsciousness and <br /> asphyxiation may result. First Aid Measures: Remove to fresh <br /> L air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If <br /> breathing is difficult, qualified personnel may administer <br /> oxygen. Get immediate medical attention. Protective <br /> Equipment: Airborne concentrations should be kept to lowest <br /> ` levels possible. If vapor, mist or dust is generated, use <br /> respirator approved by MSHA or NIOSH as appropriate. Supplied <br /> air respiratory protection should be used for cleaning large <br /> v spills or upon entry into tanks, vessels , or other confined <br /> spaces . Exposure Limit for Total Product : OSHA TWA is 300 <br /> ppm, OSHA STEL is 500 ppm. It is recommended that a TWA of <br /> i. 100 ppm be considered . <br /> o INGESTION: If more than several mouthfulls are swallowed, <br /> abdominal discomfort, nausea , and diarrhea may occur. <br /> �- Aspiration may occur during swallowing or vomiting resulting <br /> in lung damage. First Aid Measures: If swallowed, get <br /> immediate medical attention . Only induce vomiting as directed <br /> by a doctor. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious <br /> or convulsing person . <br /> ` DIESEL FUEL/KEROSENE <br /> �.. A complex mixture of hydrocarbons produced by crude oil <br /> �. distillation. Consists predominantly of hydrocarbons ranging from <br /> C-9 to C-20, and boiling in the range of 325-675F. The <br /> hydrotreated or hydrodesulfurized product also contains some <br /> hydrocarbons produced by the distillation of the products from <br /> catalytic cracking. The latter materials contain bicyclic and <br /> tricyclic aromatic hydrocarbons . The benzene content varies from <br /> 0 . 00-0 . 36% . Prolonged and repeated exposure to benzene has been <br /> associated with anemia and leukemia in humans . <br /> Prolonged or repeated skin contact with this product tends to <br /> remove skin oils possibly leading to irritation and dermatitis, <br /> however, based on human experience and available toxicological <br /> data, this product is judged to be neither a "corrosive" nor an <br /> "irritant" by OSHA criteria .
