requested we will sample monitor wells MW1, MW6 and MW9, the
closest wells to the Lincoln Center problem using EPA Metod 601 .
Item 1 of the February 18, 1994 letter, recommended a pump test
"to determine the effect that extraction may have on the
groundwater gradient and hence msgratzon" .
In light of the concerns that Lincoln Center has voiced to
Wickland Properties and until the Center has defined the extent
of their plume, or researched how pumping ground water at former
Regal 603 will effect their plume, no ground water pumping should
be performed other than the necessary purging of wells to obtain
representative water samples from the monitor wells
To help define the effectiveness of and the constraints on the
remedial actions that have occurred at this site, a brief
chronology of events follows :
October 24 , 1988 Tank removal sampling, first
discovery of an unauthorized
release (Applied GeoSystems
report dated April 7, 1989 •
Limited Subsurface Environmental
Investigationat Former Regal
Service Station 6425 Pacific
Avenue, Stockton, California.
November 15, 1988 Submitted Western Geo-Engineers
(WEGE) Workplan to delineate
gasoline range hydrocarbons,
onsite .
December 9, 1988 Completion of drilling six
exploratory onsite sample borings
and converting three borings into
ground water monitoring wells At
this time floating product was
discovered on the ground water at
MW3 . Initiate 1/4 ground water
monitoring program.
December 29, 1988 Workplan to delineated offsite
extent of gasoline range
hydrocarbons in the ground water,
see Western Geo-Engineers report
dated February 10, 1989 : Reaal 603
Site Assessment
March 3 , 1989 Installed seven additional wells
for lateral extent determination.
March 15, 1989 Date of letter to Mr Larry
Williams, Municipal Utilities
Dept , Stockton, CA , requesting to
4
