W
. brought in to level the property. Incorporated in this material is a variety of debris
including wood, metal, bricks and gravel.
2) Hydrology- The first ground water was encountered at about 12.5 feet. The water i
bearing strata composed of clayey sand, sandy clay or clayey silt, is about 2 feet
thick, extending from about 13 to 15 feet. The regional ground water gradient is to
the north, however due to leakage of the irrigation pipe near the north side of the
N' property, the flow of this shallow ground water is to the south.
3) Soil Contamination - Soil contamination is restricted to a narrow horizon above the
„. ground water (from about 12.5 up to 9 feet). The contamination is located in a
circle around the previous fuel tank location, indicating that these tanks were
probably the source. Analytical data indicatesthat there is only low levels soil of
contamination. It is possible that natural microbial degradation has already
significantly reduced the levels contamination in the sedimented surrounding the
tank location. Soil analytical data is summarized in Table '..
4) Water Contamination - Ground water contamination a!so exists only in a local plume
around the previous tank location. Levels of contamination are fairly low, with
xylene having the highest concentration and the widest distribution. Even though the
levels of contamination are not high, they are above state allowable limits for '
drinking water. Ground water analytical data is summarized in Table 2. The state
-• allowable limits for the compounds detected in the ground water are listed in Table 3.
t
Project :History
811 1 Made field version of the site map
i 8113 Prepared field site map to make a drafted copy from
h 8121 Started drafting site map t
to 8/24 Started writing property investigation proposal and finished drafting site map
t" 8/25 Continued writing proposal
1
8/26 Finished writing proposal and edited it
8127 Hand delivered proposal draft to Ben Curran and Rudy Dell'Osso, had a short
— meeting; made blue print copies of site map
9/1 Hand delivered proposal to San Joaquin County Health District, discussed the
project with Harlin Knoll c
9/14 Prepared proposal, addendum describing changes to proposal
9123 Made additional changes - slight modification of the Addendum, kept original date
9/24,)Hand delivered Addendum changes to the county and picked up drilling permit
9/28 Started fieldwork; drilled borings #.1-3, condo^tad geological investigation,
collected soil and water samples
3
