(C) All land clearing,grubbing, scraping, excavation, land leveling, grading, cut <br /> and fill,and demolition activities shall be effectively controlled of fugitive <br /> dust emissions utilizing application of water or by presoaking. <br /> (D) When materials are transported off-site, all material shall be covered, <br /> effectively wetted to limit visible dust emission, or at least six inches of <br /> Ffreeboard space from the top of the container shall be maintained. <br /> (E) All operations shall limit or expeditiously remove the accumulation of mud <br /> or dirt from adjacent public streets at least once every 24 hours when <br /> operations are occurring. The use of dry rotary brushes is expressly <br /> prohibited except where preceded or accompanied by sufficient wetting to <br /> limit the visible dust emissions. Use of blower devices is expressly <br /> F forbidden. <br /> (F) Following the addition of materials to, or the removal of materials from,the <br /> Fit' surface of outdoor storage piles, said piles shall be effectively stabilized of <br /> fugitive dust emissions utilizing sufficient water or chemical <br /> stab i l izer/suppressant. <br /> FAir-2 During construction,contractors shall adhere to the following measures: <br /> (A) Limit traffic speeds on unpaved roads to 15 mph. <br /> (B) Install sandbags or other erosion control measures to prevent silt runoff to <br /> public roadways from sites with a slope greater than one percent. <br /> (C) Install wheel washers for all exiting trucks,or wash off all trucks and <br /> equipment leaving the site. <br /> F (D) Install wind breaks at windward side(s)of construction areas. <br /> (E) Suspend excavation and grading activity when winds exceed 24 mph. <br /> (F) Limit area subject to excavation, grading, and other construction activity at <br /> Fany one time. <br /> Additional measures are recommended to further reduce other construction related <br /> emissions. <br /> F 0 To the extentractical use of alternative fueled construction equipment. <br /> ui <br /> p � q p <br /> • Minimize idling time(e.g.,ten minute maximum). <br /> • Limit the hours of operation of heavy-duty equipment and/or the amount of <br /> equipment in use. <br /> • To the extent practical, replace fossil-fueled equipment with electrically <br /> driven. <br /> k <br /> F <br /> 7/20/00(P:\SIC0301Environmentallinitial sludy.wpd) <br /> F29 <br />
