nc with General Plan and Other Planning Policies
_
Consistency g
The proposed project is considered to be consistent with two of the H policies included
in the"Resources" section of the General Plan (San Joaquin County 1992a). The proposed project
would not contribute to CO concentrations exceeding the state and federal CO standards (see Table
8-3). Therefore, the Master Plan is consistent with Policy 3 of Objective I from the "Resources"
section of the General Plan.
In addition, Policy 2 requires that motor vehicle emissions be minimized through land use
and transportation strategies. The proposed project is consistent with Policy 2 because it would
„ reduce motor vehicle emissions by diverting vehicle trips from airports in the Sacramento and San
Francisco metropolitan areas to the Stockton airport.
The proposed project is also considered to be consistent with the County's goal of meeting
and maintaining all state and national standards for air quality as identified in Policy ]. This will
ultimately be achieved through implementation of the Air Quality Attainment Plan and Ozone
` Demonstration Attainment Plan.
I'
intpact AQ 7: inconsisteney with Genera' Plan Poli
F,
Beeause the proposed projeet is expeeted to result in emeeedanees of ozone preetwser, the
proposed projeet is ineensistent with Peliey 1, w+tieh requires thet the Gouftly ineet and-ffiftintftin all.,state and national standards for air quality.
