Soil Suitability Study DC-92-2 , 1 Parcel (Cluster Dwelling)
mobile home on it . The existing home is to remain but the mobile
home is planned to be removed. in the past the subject parcel had
a roofing business on it but it is off the site now and operating
elsewhere.
Soil Profile Test :
Excavation to a maximum depth of ten ( 10) feet below the
ground surface was performed for the Soil Profile investigation on
the subject parcel , at the location shown on the attached "Parcel
Map" . Only one ( 1) basic soil layer was found throughout the 10-
foot depth. By visual observation and molding the soil in my hands ,
I classify the soil character to be adobe. The soil type in the
general area of the subject property is noted to be "Stockton Adobe
Clay" in the University Of California, College Of Agriculture ,
Agriculture Experiment Station, Berkeley 4 , Californi.a publication
by Walter W. Weir , entitled "Soils Of San Joaquin County" . The soil
was also noted to be brown in color when dry, but changes from gray
to black as it is exposed to more and more water .
No water was encountered in excavating to the 10-foot depth
below the ground surface. The San Joaquin County Flood Control And
Water Conservation Map entitled "Lines Of Equal Depth To Water
Weiss" , dated Fall 1990 , shows the water to be in excess of 80 feet
below the ground surface.
Percolation Tests :
One ( 1 ) percolation test hole, was excavated on the subject
property to about a 3-foot depth. The location of the test hole is
shown on the' attached "Parcel Map" .
The percolation test conducted was performed in accordance
with the percolation test procedures outlined in the "Manual Of
Septic Tank Practice" published by the Department Of Health
Education And Welfare and the requirements of the San Joaquin
County Public Health Service, Environmental Health Division.
On June 4 and 5 , 1992, one percolation test was performed on
the subject property under my direction in conformance with the San
Joaquin County Public Health Service, Environmental Health Division
regulations and the San Joaquin County Ordinance Code Standards .
Percolation Test Hole No. P1 resulted in the percolation rate
and determinations shown on the attached "Percolation Data Sheet"
and is summarized as follows :
i
Troy and Joann Baker 3
