April 18, 2005
NOA Project Number:-E05008B
.Measurement of the water level during the percolation test was from a fixed reference point on the
PVC casing using an electric well sounder with an depth accuracy of 1./100th foot. All tabulated
values on the field'data sheet (appendix) are in decimal feet. After water drop was observed, the
- =holes.were checked for refill.---The refilllevel was approximately 0:5 ft (6 inches) of water above the
bottom level of the percolation test hole. The readings were taken approximately every 30 minutes
for a period of four hours.
6.6 Percolation Test Fortes and Results"-'
The completed percolation test forms are included in the appendix of this report.
A shallow percolation testis defined by the EHD as being between 36 and 42 inches in depth;a
Pi satisfactory percola.tion'rate for a shallow-test.is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch drop.
Details of the percolation tests are summarized in Table 8.
F -Table 8.
--
.Summary of Percolation Tests.
Test No.-, r Percolation Percolation Rate Test Comment
-Date Tested Test Depth(ft) _.(minutes/inch) Duration (see notes)
P-1 shallow,3-3-05 '3.05 10.9 4-hr. Slow percolation rate,fail
(Parcel 4)
Note: A satisfactory percolation rate for a"shallow'test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch. _
6.7 Discussion of Percolation,Test Results
The soils within the sewage disposal areas of the proposed Parcels 1 and 2 have demonstrated a
satisfactory percolation rate in accordance with the requirements of the EHD. The soils of these
Iparcels appear to be suitable for a standard septic system. The soils withing the disposal area of the
Iproposed Parcel 3 and14 do riot_show'a satisfactory percolation rate. These soils are found to be
1 I
suitable for use with an erigirieered septic system.
6.8 Discussion of Septic System Sizing
Septic system construction should follow the San Joaquin County On-Site Wastewater Disposal
Standards where applicable.
9
