the wash area is directed towards the sand and grease trap which is part of the wash area
a system.
23.1 Potential Contaminant Sources
Potential contaminant sources associated with the vehicle maintenance shop include both
_ virgin and waste crankcase oil, hydraulic fluid, brake fluid, and lubricants. Potential
contaminants from the wash area include sediment and residual oil and lubricants.
_ The vehicle maintenance fluids and lubricants associated with vehicle maintenance are
retained in approved containers inside of the maintenance shop. Waste fluids are
periodically removed from the site by licensed haulers. Wash water from the equipment
_ wash area is routed through a sand and grease trap to a holding tank. Wash water is
recycled in accordance with Waste Discharge Requirements issued by the California Central
Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (incorporated herein by reference).
2.4 Boneyard
The Boneyard consists of approximately 2 acres west of the active Quarry. The Boneyard
is used for storage of materials. Materials stored in the Boneyard include primarily metal
structural supplies, metal and PVC pipe, fencing supplies, and scrap lumber. The location
of the Boneyard is shown in Figure 2.
- 2.4.1 Potential Contaminant Sources
No potential contaminant sources are associated with the Boneyard.
2.5 Pristine and Reclaimed Areas
The Pristine and Reclaimed Areas are shown on the Site Map, Figure 2. The Pristine
portions comprise the reserves to be mined at a later date, as well as areas not intended to
be mined. Reclaimed areas are those areas that have been mined and rehabilitated and are
no longer impacted by, or involved in current site operations.
The Pristine portion of the property is comprised of rolling hills dissected by northwest-
flowing ephemeral drainage courses. Reclaimed areas are situated west of the staging area
for conveyor loading from the quarry. This area has been graded flat and seeded.
2.5.1 Potential Contaminant Sources
Potential sources of contaminants associated with the pristine areas of the site come from
the planned excavation of overburden materials, excavation into raw materials, and
production of waste materials. Potential contaminants associated with reclaimed areas
Stam Wier Management Plan-HRC Aggegete Inc
BSH Pr.jea Nn 59210/2 4
Revised January 1991
