With cumulative development as proposed , substantially more
solid waste would be generated . With the future expansion of the
Lovelace Transfer Station, the County ' s solid waste facilities are
expected to accommodate cumulative quantities of solid waste.
Cumulative development will increase the demand for water.
Given current water yields in the Morada Area, this increased
demand is not expected to significantly affect the local
groundwater table . Cumulative development would also increase the
amount of stormwater runoff in the area . Future projects which
provide terminal drainage systems to the Calaveras River would
contribute to flows , but are not expected to have a significant
impact on potential flooding.
The use of septic tanks and leachfields or seepage pits for
sewage disposal is common in the Morada Area. The increased
number of these systems resulting from cumulative development
would increase the potential for groundwater contamination due to
high concentrations of nitrates and fecal coliform. This impact
would be reduced by providing adequate setbacks for sanitary
systems and critical review of the soil suitability of each
particular site proposed for development.
Cumulative development in the project area is expected to
increase traffic levels on the local roadway network. An
analysis of cumulative impacts is provided in Section V. A. ,
Traffic and Circulation . It should be noted that an analysis of [
traffic impacts associated with the Arnaiz project is beyond the J
scope of this DEIR . Potential traffic impacts associated with
this project will be analyzed in the forthcoming DEIR currently in
preparation .
J
64
