i4
Soil Suitability&Nitrate Loading Study Page 2
St. Patrick's Church, Escalon, CA
r Project No. 607.1
F,
October 14, 2009
encompasses a total area f about .50 acres (see Fig. 2 The ocation of the
Fil
subject parcel is on the west si e o arro on o 1
a and almost /2 mile north of
Highway 120. The area lies in the southern part of San Joaquin County, in a
rural area about 3 miles east of Escalon.
.2 Proposed Development
The parcel has been
p proposed for full development asCa church si e (see site
maps in Appendix A). In the immediate future, the owner o e property is
proposing to construct a small, 1,872 square-foot chapel near the existing
residence. In the more distant future, additional buildings will also be
constructed: mostly in the 10 to 20-year time frame. When complete, in addition
to the chapel, the parcel will also be the site of a church, a school, a rectory, a
F! multi-purpose room, an administrative building, and a convent (Fig. 3C).
F The chapel will be constructe first nd it will be served by a dedicated new
F } septic sewage system. On an l im basis, potable water will be supplied by
the existing domestic water production well. It should be noted that there is a
Fdiscrepancy between Figures 3A and 3C regarding the relative positions of the
chapel and the existing house. In this case, the positions shown in Figure 3A &
3B are correct.
Pi
When the other new buildings are constructed, a large septic system will be
constructed to handle waste from the new buildings and a new water well will be
Fj drilled to supply_ potable water. The large septic system is to be in the
southwestern part of the parte
F
2.0 PRESENT AND PAST USES OF THE SITE
FThe subject property is currently the site of a single rural residence. It appears
to have been originally constructed as a farm residence, but is currently in use
Pby the parish. The remainder of the parcel remains in agricultural use,
currently to raise corn. The residence is served by a domestic water well and a
septic sewage system. The water well will also serve the new chapel. Based on
a permit information, (see Section 3.1) the house dates from 1965.
F,
This is a mostly rural area, notable for its almond and walnut orchards. Excluding
F, the church complex, adjacent and nearby parcels are in agricultural use and this use
includes farm-building complexes. There is also a short row of residential lots
immediately to the west of the church along Highway 120.
F
lr: 2937 Veneman Ave.,#fB240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
