E. Most items are re-used right here on this ranch, thus there is no need to develop a
market for them. The manure has a ready market in the fertilizer, composting, and
gardening markets.
4 111. Waste Storage
Most items stored for re-cycling(like aluminum cans and plastic bottles) are
f stored in plastic garbage cans or re-cycled plastic barrels. When full they are
taken to a community re-cycling facility, We currently have one barrel outside
the back door of our home, and one located in the garage, which all clients have
accessto.
We have a cement pad poured for the 2 yard dumpster, with extremely convenient
access for the Stockton Scavenger truck for weekly dumping. They drive in;
dump the bin, and drive forward to leave the property. This area is over 150'off
the public roadway, so there is no impact on Carrolton Road or my easements.
When we do store the manure, it is inside a fenced area, out of view of the public,
in a working area of the ranch: 1t is compost piled until it is either removed from
the property to be utilized elsewhere, or spread and disked in on our own property,
every seven days, in compliance with health department regulations.
1V. Waste Collection
When we have a soda or water from an aluminum can or plastic bottle, the
containers are placed into the recycle barrels until the barrel is full. When full, we
r take them to a community recycling facility. Since we do not consume a huge
quantity of the above, there is a less than significant impact on our home, ranch, or
the community recycling centers.
What little solid waste that is not reduced, re-used or re-cycled, is placed into the
two yard Stockton Scavenger bin that is picked up weekly by Stockton Scavenger.
J
The manure is picked up daily from the stalls, placed into the composting pile, and
then removed and/or recycled weekly.
r
V. Waste Disposal
The receiving facility is the same that Stockton Scavenger uses. The impact is
virtually nil on the disposal facility because there is very little solid waste generated
from the horse boarding business. What little there is, goes in with our household
garbage.
i
