PERCOLATION TESTING
On each of the three subject Lots tested, two perc test borings were drilled near the continuous
cores on August 9, 2005, using solid stem auger. One boring was drilled to shallow depths of 38-
40 inches, representative of effluent percolation from leachlines. The other boring was drilled to a
deeper depth, where permeable strata was encountered as observed in the continuous coring
process. The percolation test boring locations are illustrated on the Site Plan found in Appendix A.
After drilling the shallow perc test borings, the sidewalls were scored with a pry-bar and the loose
material removed. The deeper borings could not be scored due to their depths. Two inches of pea
gravel was placed at the bottom to prevent scour and three-inch perforated PVC pipe was inserted
in all six of the test borings. All perc test borings were pre-saturated on August 11, 2005 at 0800
hrs with 12 inches of clear water in accordance with EHD regulations.
Yl On August 12, 2005, 0630 hrs, percolation testing commenced for all six borings. Post-soak status
for each test boring is illustrated in the Table below. If standing water was measured in the test
boring, EHD Perc Test Procedure#1 was conducted for these test borings. If no water remained,
EHD Test Procedure#2 was conducted.
The last half hour of the tests, in addition to perc test boring depth and water head depth, was
witnessed by Lisa Medina, R.E.H.S. of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department.
r The following Table illustrates the proposed Parcel number, septic system structure to be installed
based on depth of acceptable perc rates, Watkinson Road Address, A.P.N.
