Mitigation measures to help mitigate these <br /> emissions may include: <br /> a. Commitment to comply with any New Indirect Source rule if <br /> adopted before December 31, 1991. <br /> b. Implementation of carpools, vanpools, park & ride lots to <br /> reduce the number of trips from home to work. <br /> c. Access to regional transit system. <br /> 4 . The District foresees a problem with Carbon Monoxide and fine <br /> particular matter (PM-10) if the Project includes the burning of <br /> wood in fireplaces and stoves. The new EPA certified fireplace <br /> inserts have been shown in laboratory with emissions of particulate <br /> matter ranging from 70% to 90% less than conventional stoves. <br /> Installation of EPA certified fireplace inserts and stoves is <br /> recommended as a mitigation measure for Carbon Mono - <br /> Monoxide and PM 10. <br /> 5. Emissions generated during the construction process are of <br /> concern to the District. The attached dust control practices shall <br /> be implemented if and when construction/grading takes place. <br /> 6. Projects shall maintain adequate record keeping of mitigation <br /> measures, if applicable for the Air Pollution Control District <br /> staff in making scheduled or unscheduled inspections. <br /> The District appreciates the opportunity to comment on the <br /> application.
