Four soil borings were drilled adjacent to the former diesel tank to investigate <br /> the impacted area indicated by the preliminary sampling. One 10 foot boring was <br /> drilled at the site of the former waste oil tank to .retrieve an additional sample below the <br /> tank at the request of the San Joaquin 'County DHS/EHD. The borings were drilled <br /> using a hollow stem auger drilling rig owned by Soils Engineering Inc. (SEI) under <br /> contract to AGI. <br /> 4.1 Boring Methods <br /> Five soil borings (Borings D-1 to D-5) were advanced using a CME-75 rig with an eight <br /> (8)-inch outer diameter hollow stem continuous flight'auger in accordance with ASTM <br /> Method D1452-80 for soil investigations and sampling by auger borings. The <br /> maximum depth reached was 40 feet. All borings were drilled vertically with the <br /> exception of Boring D-1 , which was advanced at a 30 degree angle under the former <br /> 4 <br /> = i <br />
