The only property improvements observed were the previously mentioned dwellings and
(4) above ground diesel fuel tanks. No vent pipes, ground discoloration or any
indications of excavations were observed to indicate any underground storage tank
contamination sources.
Soil Analysis: Soil Samples were taken during the site reconnaissance on January l la',
2002. A 4-part composite sample was taken and analyzed for chlorinated pesticides,
chlorinated herbicides and organophosphates pesticides, EPA methods 8081, 8151 and
8141 respectively. Soil sample locations can be found on the attached soil sample
location map. A sample was taken from approximately 1-foot below the surface grade
from each of the four locations, composited in the field, contained as (1) sample in a
clean brass liner with end caps protected by Teflon, logged onto chain-of-custody forms
and stored on crushed ice for transportation to a state approved laboratory for analysis.
The results showed that the pesticides as None Detected (ND) for any of the EPA
methods listed above. The analytical data with chain-of-custody can be found attached to
the end of this report.
San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office Files Chemical Search:
The San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Office was requested to access
their files and report any pesticide and/or herbicide applications submitted over the last
five years. The County Agricultural Commissioner's Office reported that no records
were found (over the past 5-years) for placing pesticides and herbicides on-site by the
present property owner on the subject property. This information can be found in their
letter dated January 7, 2002, which is found attached to this report.
Possible Nitrate Contaminants: The property does not have a leach field/se tic disposal
but has had small amounts of agricultural fertilizers used on-site for crops, li e a a pha
and tomatoes, according to the owner, and it is Wright's opinion that excessive nitrate
concentration are not present at this time. There were no domesticated animals found on
the property thus excessive nitrate presence did not appear to be an issue for the subject
property at this time.
Possible Sewage Disposal On-site Use: San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division septic permit applications were reviewed. Permit
applications were reviewed in the general vicinity of the subject property involving a
period from 1955 through 1999. No permits were found for the subject property. Since
there are no septic permits on file with the County, the property in question does not
appear to have any likely contamination from previous sewage disposal on-site.
Consequently, a source of nitrate contaminants from sewage disposal is not indicated.
THOMAS PEREIRA PROPERTY at 15345 Grant Line Road,Tracy,CA 95304
Page 5
