4
jr February 18, 2005
NOA Project Number: E04145A
hi' According to EXTOXNET,chlorpyrifos is a broad spectrum insecticide which is moderately toxic to
humans. It adsorbs strongly to soil particles and is not readily soluble in water,so it is unlikely to leach
to groundwater. The half-life of chlorpyrifos in soil is usually between 60 and 120 days, but can range
from two weeks to over one year (PIP, 1993).
According to EXTOXNET, permethrin is a moderately to practically non-toxic pesticide in EPA
toxicity class II or III,but the chemical is listed as an RUP because of its possible adverse effects on
aquatic organisms. Permethrin is of low to moderate persistence in the soil environment, with reported
half-lives of 30 to 38 days. It is not very mobile in most soil types (PIP, 1996).
According to EXTOXNET,lambda cyhalothrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide and acaricide. It
is moderately toxic in the technical form, but may be highly tonic in formulation. Lambda cyhalothrin
is moderately persistent in the soil environment, with a field half-life close to 30 days in most soils (PIP,
2001).
The Agricultural Commissioner's office documents have been included in Appendix F.
3.1.5 tater Supply and Sewage Disposal System
i_
One agricultural well is located on the subject property. The location of this feature is indicated on the
site map (Appendix A). The EHD well and septic permit files were searched on December 29,2004
6. in an effort to obtain copies of permits for any water wells or septic tanks on the subject property. No
permits were found.
L 3.1.6 Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources
The California Department of Oil,Gas,and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR)Wildcat Map#606 was
6 reviewed for evidence of oil or gas wells on or in the vicinity of the subject property. One well is
depicted on the subject property, the Chevron USA, Inc. `Blewett Community" 14, a plugged and
abandoned dry hole. The following wells are depicted within one-quarter mile of the subject property:
V
Chevron USA, Inc. `Blewett Community" 1 Plugged and abandoned—gas
Chevron USA, Inc. "Blewett Community" 5 Plugged and abandoned—gas
LSource Energy,LLC "Blewett" 1-23 Completed—gas
Chevron USA, Inc. "Blewett Community" 10 Plugged and abandoned—gas
L. The completed gas well is located approximately one-eighth of a mile to the northwest of the subject
property, most likely across the wetland area from the property. A portion of the DOGGR map is
included in Appendix F.
r
L
8
L '044
6.
