The SWIS database contains an inventory of solid waste
disposal facilities or landfills. These may be active or inactive facilities or open dumps that failed
to meet RCRA Section 2204 criteria for solid waste landfills or disposal sites.
The SWIS database was reviewed online on April 28, 2004; the subject property did not appear
on the SWIS database at this time. The SWIS database listed no sites within a one-quarter mile
■, radius of the subject property.
3.1.8 Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources
L
The California Department of Oil, Gas,and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR)wildcat map 6066.
was reviewed for evidence of oil or gas wells on or in the vicinity of the subject property. No
wells were located within one-quarter mile of the subject property.
3.1.9 Site Reconnaissance
A visual reconnaissance of the subject property was conducted on April 29, 2004. Photographs
of the subject property are attached to this report as Appendix B. A site visit/assessment a
checklist is attached to this report as Appendix D.
At the time of the site visit, the subject property was observed to be a vacant field covered in wild
grasses several feet high. A rough dirt road led from Guernsey Avenue across the subject
property to Mormon Slough. A second dirt road crossed the southern portion of the subject
property. Because of the growth of vegetation on the property, it was not possible to view the
soils for evidence of staining or contamination.
A large, oblong area of different vegetation, most likely a low spot causing a seasonal wet area,
was observed near the center of the property. A drainage ditch was observed to run along the
two northern property boundary.
One automotive chemical container and a car door were observed on the property. A small pile
i. of construction debris was observed as well. Two fallen telephone poles lay across the northern
portion of the property.
i
L
10
'404L
v
