i
60
L May 18, 2004
NOA Project Number: E04046A
2.0 PAST, PRESENT, AND PROPOSED FUTURE USES
2.1 Recorded Land Title Records
A preliminary chain of title report was provided by Mr. Zeiter for NOA's use in preparing this
` report. No evidence of liens or land use restrictions from environmental causes was contained
within the preliminary report.
r 2.2 Aerial Photographs
Aerial photographs depicting the subject property dated 1937, 1952, 1963, 1975 and 1983 were
reviewed at the San Joaquin County Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. Two additionalZ'y
photos, dated 1998 and 2002, were obtained from Microsoft Terraserver.
In the 1937 photo, Main Street, Guernsey Avenue, Hinkley Avenue, and Olive Avenue are
apparent. Mormon Slough lies to the south. The southern half of the subject property appears
` to be orchard. The northern half appears to be crop or grazing land. Two structures, one of
which appears to be a barn, are located in the northwest corner of the property. A tree-lined strip
crosses the subject property approximately one-third of the way down. Surrounding properties
` are grazing land, crop land, orchard, and rural residences.
In the 1952 photo, the orchard has been removed from the subject property; the majority of the
►. property now appears to be open crop or grazing land. The structure near the barn is no longer
apparent, and a smaller structure sits in its place. The tree-lined strip across the property has been
removed as well. New single-family residences are apparent to the northeast of the subject
•' property. A new structure has been constructed to the west of the subject property. The
properties to the south of the subject property, across Mormon Slough, have been converted from
open grazing land into ranchette parcels. The subject property and its immediate vicinity
otherwise appear unchanged from the 1937 photo.
` In the 1963 photo, the northern half of the subject property appears to be covered in a growth
of bushes or shrubs. A mobile home or similar structure is now apparent near the northern site t
boundary. New single-family residences are apparent to the north of the subject property. The
. subject property and its immediate vicinity otherwise appear unchanged from the 1952 photo.
3
