GP-01-4 AND ZONE
RECLASSIFICATION NO. ZR-01-02 OF SILVA, DAVID & ELLEN (C/O
MAYALL, HURLEY, KNUTSEN, SMITH & GREEN)
The applicants, David and Ellen Silva have submitted the above referenced General
Plan Amendment application and Rezone Classification application to change the
designations of the western 0.9 acre portion of a 2.5 acre parcel of land bisected by
Interstate 5. The subject property has a current General Plan designation of A/L
(Limited-Agriculture) and a zoning designation of AL-10 (Limited Agriculture-10 acre
minimum). The applicants are proposing to change the General Plan designation to I/L
(Limited-Industrial) and the zoning designation to I-W(Warehouse-Industrial). The
purpose of the General Plan Amendment and Zone Reclassification is to enable the
applicants to obtain a Site Approval application for the parking of truck trailers (Use
Type: Truck Sales and Services: Parking). The applicants have historically parked
trailers at this location without benefit of the necessary permits.
The property is located on the west side of Manthey Road, 179 feet south of Matthews
Road, west of French Camp. The site is currently under enforcement for operating a
truck parking operation in an agricultural zone. This use type (Truck Parking) may be
conditionally permitted in the I-W zone with an approved Site Approval.
The contiguous property to the east of Interstate 5 has a General Plan and zoning
designation of General-Commercial (C/G & C-G) and within the unincorporated urban
community of French Camp. If approved, this amendment would expand the urban
community of French Camp to include the subject property.
This project has tentatively been scheduled for the Planning Commission meeting of
May 3, 2001. The Community Development Department has reviewed the General Plan
Map Amendment and Zone Reclassification application and responses from other
