SUBJECT PROPERTY RECONNAISSANCE L� X �I <br /> A site reconnaissance of the subject property was conducted by representatives of AGE on 06 May <br /> 2004. It was a clear day with a brisk wind. Photographs of selected features of the subject site are <br /> included in Appendix A. <br /> • The subject property was located southeast of the City of Tracy, San Joaquin County, <br /> northwest of the intersection of South Chrisman Road and Vernalis Road. The property was <br /> approximately one-mile long north-to-south and one and one-half mile long east-to-west and <br /> was transected by Highway 580 and the California Aqueduct. <br /> • Surrounding property use was mixed agricultural and residential use,residential complexes <br /> were noted at the southeast and southwest corners of the property and at the intersection of <br /> the northern property boundary at MacArthur Drive. A service station was located adjacent <br /> to Parcel 2 along Chrisman Road. <br /> • The subject property was undeveloped land covered in weeds and grasses at the time of the <br /> site reconnaissance.Parcel 1 was bound by Vernalis Road to the south and Highway 580 to <br /> the north, Parcel 2 was located between Highway 580 and the California Aqueduct and <br /> Parcel 3 was located north of the California Aqueduct. <br /> • The property was generally fenced. <br /> • PARCEL 1:AGE was unable to drive through the gates along Vernalis Road;representatives <br /> climbed the gate and walked the property.Utility work was evident along the boundary with <br /> Vernalis Road and there was minor household debris along the road;no obvious debris was <br /> noted along the boundary with Highway 580. Parcel 1 had a fenced dirt road along the <br /> western boundary of Section 27; the western half-section of the property appeared to have <br /> been used for cattle or sheep;watering or feeding containers were noted along the fence and <br /> what appeared to be wool was found in the barbed-wire fencing. A fenced mound of bailed <br /> hay was located near the southeast corner and a small amount of rusted farm equipment was <br /> located along the boundary with Highway 580. Several drainage ditches and culverts for <br /> highway drainage were visible along the boundary with Highway 580. <br /> • There were no obvious indications of stained soil or burned and distressed vegetation noted <br /> on Parcel 1. <br /> • PARCEL 2: AGE walked the eastern portion of the parcel from the service station,walked <br /> along the aqueduct to observe the center section of the parcel and observed the western <br /> portion of the parcel from the southern terminous of MacArthur Drive.
