Mr. Karam said that he would speak with Traffic Engineering regarding Dedication and of <br /> Realignment of Roadway, and get back to the applicants. <br /> Mr. Ray Borges reviewed Environmental Health's Division conditions. <br /> Alison Hudson of Solid Waste advised the applicants that a waste plan is required. <br /> Mr. Skidmore and Mr. Mensonides stated that they would like to postpone the Planning <br /> Commission meeting until September 21, 2000. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> 10:00 a.m. 2. USE PERMIT APPLICTION NO. UP-00-12 OF <br /> TW R & G SCHATZ FARMS, INC. (CIO MIKE SMITH ENGINEERING). <br /> A Use Permit application to construct a two phase wine processing and <br /> wine tasting facility. Phase one will allow for processing 1,000 tons of <br /> grapes, and constructing a 6,000 square foot building for storage and <br /> processing, a 750 square foot tasting room and a 10,000 square foot tank <br /> farm roof cover. Also to allow for custom crushing an additional 1,000 tons <br /> of other growers grapes to be processed off-site. Within 5 years Phase two <br /> proposes to double Phase one by processing an additional 1,000 tons of <br /> grapes, and adding a second 10,000 square foot tank farm roof cover. <br /> Located on the southeast corner of Peltier Road and Kennefick Road, <br /> Acampo. (APN: 017-150-02; 6200 E. Peltier Road, Acampo, CA). <br /> Tina Wehrmeister, Associate Planner; Rodney Schatz, R & G Schatz Farms, Inc., Mike Smith, <br /> Mike Smith Engineering; Kermit Darrow, Building Division and Alison Hudson, Solid Waste <br /> Division, were present for this item. <br /> Ms. Wehrmeister introduced the project. <br /> The applicants and staff discussed traffic flow and tonnage of grapes. Ms. Wehrmeister asked <br /> the applicants to let her know in writing what the traffic flow and tonnage of grapes will be. <br /> Ms. Wehrmeister said that the applicants had mentioned that they were going to put in writing a <br /> proposal regarding ponds for storm drainage, draining it out to the vineyards. Mr. Smith said that <br /> at this time they plan to store wash water and haul it off. Mr. Smith said that he would discuss the <br /> matter of the wastewater with his client, and get back to Ms. Wehrmeister with information on <br /> what they propose to do. <br /> Mr. Borges reviewed Environmental Health Divisions issues with the applicants. <br /> Mr. Martin asked the applicant if there was a problem with the odor. Mr. Schatz said that it was <br /> minimal. He also indicated that the grapes have been through the press and the remainder is <br /> usually put back out in the vineyards, if not then it is shipped off. <br /> Mr. Darrow asked Mr. Schatz if he planned to have any community functions. Mr. Schatz <br /> indicated that at this time no, and that it would just be strictly wine tasting. <br /> Ms. Wehrmeister asked Mr. Smith and Mr. Karam the status of the railroad right-of-way. <br />
