EMGEO <br /> INCORPORATED <br /> 6.0 INTERVIEWS <br /> We interviewed Mr. Larry Matlock, the current owner of the Property. Mr. Matlock stated that <br /> he and his wife purchased the Property in 1986 and built their home and other structures within <br /> the Property in 1988. Mr. Matlock stated that out of the four previous buildings within the <br /> Property, only two remained at the time of their purchase. Mr. Matlock stated that he <br /> demolished the buildings prior to the construction of their home. Mr. Matlock stated that he has <br /> grown alfalfa on approximately 70 acres since the purchase of the Property in 1986. Mr. <br /> Matlock stated that it is his understanding that corn, cucumbers, alfalfa, and sugar beets have <br /> historically been grown on the Property. Mr. Matlock stated that since his purchase of the <br /> Property in 1986, the only pesticide used within the Property was "Poast." Mr. Matlock stated <br /> that there are no underground fuel storage tanks within the Property. Mr. Matlock stated that <br /> there are two 500-gallon aboveground fuel storage tanks. One of these tanks contains diesel fuel <br /> with the second containing gasoline according to Mr. Matlock. Mr. Matlock stated that there is <br /> one domestic water well located within the Property and two septic s_ y� Mr. Matlock stated <br /> that the domestic water well is approximately 75 feet deep. <br /> We interviewed Mr. Ted Viss, Inspector from the San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's <br /> Office (SJCACO). Mr. Viss cucumber, sugar beets, and alfalfa have been grown on the Property <br /> since before 1960. Mr. Viss stated that Direx 4L, Poast, Velpar L, and Furadan 4f were most likely <br /> pesticides to have been used. We reviewed data prepared by Oregon State University, Extension <br /> Toxicology Network (EXTOXNET). EXTOXNET reports the half-life of these four pesticides <br /> ranges from 5 days to 1 year. <br /> We interviewed Mr. Darryl Johnson of PG&E. Mr. Johnson stated that the seven pole mounted <br /> transformers located along the perimeter of the Property do not contain PCB cooling oils. <br /> 5943.5.001.01 Page 17 <br /> June 25, 2003 <br />
