Sperry, address: McAllen Rd <br /> A site reconnaissance of Parcels 092-140-12 and 096-050-13 was conducted by Suzanne W. <br /> Henderson(Environmental Research Specialist)and Calvin F.Lee(Project Geologist,REA)of AGE <br /> on 10 September 2003;Mr.Fred Ballew,a Sperry family member,discussed the parcels and assisted <br /> AGE with determining the parcel boundaries.Photographs of selected features ofthe two parcels are <br /> included in Appendix B. <br /> APN 092-140-12(Parcel 12)was bound by East McAllen Road on the north,by the Calaveras River <br /> on the south,by undeveloped land on the east and by the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way on <br /> the west. The property sloped downward from the road to the river;the western portion was covered <br /> in weeds and grasses and a recent grass fire was noted on the eastern portion. There was mild <br /> dumping of residential materials along the roadway and the river and a small dump site of asphalt <br /> near the railroad right-of-way. A drainage ditch extended along the railroad right-of-way from the <br /> road to the river. <br /> Mr.Ballew stated that his family had owned this parcel since the 1880s,and that the parcel extended <br /> to the middle of the`old Calaveras River"and had always been vacant land.He stated that the latest <br /> grass fires were recent and happened often. Except for the burn area, AGE found no direct <br /> indications, such as chemical storage or dumping, spilled powders, discolored or stained soil, or <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
