LMOUNTAIN HOUSE PROPOSED MACHADO TENTATIVE MAP 4. ENVIRONMENTAL CHECKLIST
4.7 HAzARDs
L
i A K-8 elementary school is proposed for the southwest comer of the Machado property. It is
L unlikely that the school would be open and occupied before construction at the project site is
complete. However, if the school is occupied before all construction is complete, it is
possible that potentially hazardous materials would be disturbed or handled during
Lconstruction that could drift or be blown onto the school site. SPIIIEIR Mitigation Measure
4.9-1 adequately defines the actions to be taken to eliminate these hazards.
LMitigation Measures
No additional mitigation measures are required.
Ld) Be located on a site which is included on a list of hazardous materials sites compiled
pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5 and, as a result, would it create a
Lsignificant hazard to the public or the environment?
The project site was not included on a list of hazardous materials sites identified in the
SPUMIR(EDAW, 2005b).
6.
Mitigation Measures
L, No mitigation measures are required.
e) For a project located within an airport land use plan or, where such a plan has not
L been adopted, within two miles of a public airport or public use airport, would the
project result in a safety hazard for people residing or working in the project area?
L The project site is not located within the boundaries of an airport land use plan. The nearest
airport is the Byron Airport located approximately 5 miles northwest of the project site. The
Byron Airport does not pose health risks to future residents or employees at the project site.
r
Mitigation Measures
No mitigation measures are required.
f For a project located within the vicinity of a private airstrip, would the project result in
a safety hazard for people residing or working in the project area?
The proposed project is not located in the vicinity of a private airstrip. No impact from
private airstrips would occur.
Mitigation Measures
` No mitigation measures are required.
g) Impair implementation of or physically interfere with an adopted emergency response
L plan or emergency evacuation plan?
L
4-39
