H9 KLEINFELDER
` include interior streets and driveways, various concrete flatwork, alon sign, and various buried
utilities. PY
Since grading plans were not currently available, proposed cuts and fills are unknown at this
time. However, as site topography is essentially level, cuts and fills during earthwork are
anticipated to be minimal (3 feet or less) to provide level foundation pads with positive site
drainage. Excavations for underground utilities are not anticipated to exceed 15 feet below final
site grade.
v
Anticipated Subsurface Conditions
Kleinfelder's Stockton office has performed several geotechnical studies in the project area.
These include a preliminary study for the Mountain House development north of Grant Line
Road, the transmission towers located along the west perimeter of the site, the future Calpine co-
generation plant that will be located to the northwest, and various commercial warehouse
structures to the south. Based on this experience, we anticipate the near-surface soils will consist
predominantly of stiff to very-stiff, moderately-plastic clay underlain by interbedded strata of
very-stiff to hard silt and clay and medium-dense to dense sand. Groundwater is anticipated
within 15 to 20 feet of existing site grade.
III. PHASE I - ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT
_ Introduction
Our ESA scope of services was developed after reviewing the San Joaquin County Use Permit,
Site Approval and Improvement Plan Application for the project and is a preliminary
understanding of your desires.
` Scope of Work
TASK 1.0 REGULATORY AGENCY AND OTHER RECORDS REVIEW
1.1 Standard Environmental Record Sources: Federal and State
A review of published lists of state and federal regulatory agency investigations and/or
enforcement actions for the site and within the following ASTM minimum search distances of
the site.
r
• United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) National Priority List
(NPL), RCRA CORRACTS Treatment, Storage and Disposal (TSD) facilities, the
Cal-EPA Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Cal-Sites List including
the Bond Expenditure Plan (BEP) and Annual Workplan for the site and properties
within one mile of the site;
02001PROP.GEO/ST02P093 August 21,2002
©2002 Meinfelde ,Inc.
