` KLEINFELDER
near the outside western wall is a shed-like structure used to support a domestic well and a 5-
gallon bucket of waste oil (Appendix A, Photograph 12). A bucket of waste oil was observed
along the western wall of the produce shed (Appendix A, Photograph 3). Light staining was
observed around the shed-like structure. Along the northeastern edge of the irrigation canal are
three approximately 100-500 gallon fuel AST's (Appendix A, Photograph 20). No secondary
containment structures were observed. Two of the AST's are situated on top of metal stands, the
third is located on the ground. Soil staining (approximately 1' foot in diameter) was observed
underneath the fueling nozzles of the tanks (Appendix A, Photograph 22).
Large piles of soil were observed along the southwestern bank of the irrigation canal (photo 15).
Machinery and various debris is located along the northeastern bank of the irrigation canal
(photo 27). A large debris pile containing vegetation, discarded vegetables, cardboard and
L wooden crates and pallets (photo 26).
A breezeway area is connected to the northern wall of the produce stand (Appendix A,
Photograph 23). The breezeway contains containers of vegetables, scales and packing materials.
A residential trailer is connected to the northern wall of the breezeway. Kleinfelder did not
access the trailer. A domestic well was located along the eastern wall of the residential trailer. A
pole-mounted transformer was located north of the produce stand (Appendix A, Photograph 25).
A propane tank was located along the northern side of a picket fence, north of the gravel parking
area.
The southern half of the site is partially divided by a tree line. The southeastem portion is
mostly row crop, the southwestern portion is vacant disced field. Flagging for a gas pipeline is
located within the tree line (Appendix A, Photograph 36). A concrete standpipe is located within
the tree line. A pole-mounted transformer and an agricultural well are located at the northern
edge of the tree line, south of the irrigation canal (Appendix A, Photograph 31). Pieces of
concrete and metal piping are observed along the southern edge of the westem side of the tree
line.
A dry canal, trending in an east/west direction, was observed near the southern edge of the site
(Appendix A, Photograph 38). No staining or evidence of any leakage is observed. Several
L concrete standpipes and miscellaneous debris was observed near the southwestern comer of the
site. The western half of the southwestem portion of the site is a depression. Electrical
transmission lines make up the western edge of the site. A canal, trending in a north/south
I direction was located in the central area of the southwestern portion of the site. An agricultural
pump and several pieces of metal pipe were observed near the southern edge of the canal
(Appendix A, Photograph 44). A pole-mounted transformer and two empty 55-gallon drums
L were observed approximately 75-100 feet east of the agricultural well and metal piping
(Appendix A, Photographs 43 and 45). The transformer was rusted and appears to be old.
Flagging for an underground petroleum pipeline was observed along the southern bank of the
irrigation canal that divides the site into northern and southern portions, in the southwestern
portion of the site (Appendix A, Photograph 41). Flagging for a gas pipeline is also located
along the canal.
L21073.P0I /STO2R761 Page 19 of 31
Copyright 2002 Kleinfelder,Inc. November 12,2002
