Conditional Workplan Approval -2 - 11 December 2001 <br /> at the indicated schedule. Please monitor the following parameters in all groundwater monitoring <br /> wells. <br /> Constituents Units Tyne of Sample Sampling/Reporting Frequency <br /> Groundwater Elevation 0.01 feet Measurement Quarterly <br /> BOD51 mg/1 Grab Quarterly <br /> Nitrate as Nitrogen mg/l Grab Quarterly <br /> Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen mg/l Grab Quarterly <br /> Total Dissolved Solids mg/1 Grab Quarterly <br /> pH pH units Grab Quarterly <br /> Standard Minerals z mg/1 Grab Annually <br /> I <br /> Grab <br /> I BODS denotes biochemical oxygen demand. <br /> z Standard minerals shall consist of at least the following: calcium,magnesium,sodium, chloride, nitrate,sulfate, <br /> total alkalinity(including alkalinity series), and hardness. <br /> 3 Trihalomethanes shall be analyzed by EPA Method 8010 or equivalent. ` <br /> I <br /> The dissolved solid loading rate presented in the Report of Waste Discharge (RWD) (7,075 lbs/ac-year) <br /> is a concern and may indicate that additional land application areas will be needed. It is noted that other <br /> potential on-site land application areas will not be monitored by groundwater monitoring wells. The <br /> RWD identifies 15.8 acres of land application area.. If during preparation and adoption of the WDRs, <br /> additional Iand application areas are determined to be necessary, more wells will be required to monitor <br /> the discharge. <br /> The workplan is approved on the condition that the above coimments are addressed in an addendum letter <br /> to be submitted by 4 January 2002. The workplan states wells will be installed as soon as possible after <br /> approval of the workplan; please install the wells by 28 February 2002 and collect samples during the <br /> first quarter 2002, or provide a written explanation for delays beyond those dates. <br /> If you have any questions on this conditional approval, please telephone me=at (916) 255-3116. <br /> TIMOT R.
