/5.0 SOIL PROFILE INFORMATION SECTION:
L
-5-1 5.1 Site map showing location, with dimensions, of the soil profile pit on the parcel: See
Appendix.
/5.2 Description of soil profile pit including depth and dimensions: The shallow test holes
5 > were prepared per County Standards. The holes were excavated to a depth of approximately
36 inches and 8 inches in diameter. They were backfilled with 1-2 inches of "pea gravel."
The deep holes were prepared per County Standards. The deepholeereeddnl dot o a depth
approximately 22-24 feet. A 2 inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom was
used to measure the drop of water in the percolation test boring. Approximately 1-2 inches of
"pea gravel" were placed in the bottom of test boring; the PVC was installed on top of the gravel.
about 6 inches of "Pea gravel' was placed in the annular space around the pipe.
5.3 Description of soil lithology as noted from test pit by appropriate professional using
industry standard protocol: The soil in this area is classified as Bruella sandy loam, San
Joaquin loam, Rocklin fine sandy loam, and Exeter sandy loam stated in the Soil Survey of San
Joaquin County, California as provided by the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil
` Conservation Service.
5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The aforementioned
soil types listed above have moderate to low permeability thus percolation rates varied as
demonstrated by the mixed results for all three parcels. (See Appendix).
., 6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
.o
t/6.1 Site Map Showing the location, with concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
.. test holes on the parcel: See Appendix.
6.2 The Minimum Number of Shallow and Deep Percolation Tests was Performed for Each
.. ' Parcel: Three shallow percolation test holes were prepared, one on each proposed parcel. Three
deep holes were also prepared due to the characteristics of the soil and the low permeability
rates.
6.3 Description of the Date, Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole, Including
Depth and Dimensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water Used to Presoak
(Minimum 12 Inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth of 36 inches and
8 inches in diameter and backfilled with1-2 s of "pea gravel' in accordance with County -----1
Standards. The shallow holes were prepared by staff of Neil O. Anderson & Associates on
January 26, 2006 and the 24 hour presoak period was started. The holes were filled with 12
inches of water over the gravel and at this time. Environmental Health Department was notified
of the start of the test.
The deep holes were excavated to a depth of approximately 22-24 feet, respectively, and
backfilled with 1-2 inches of "pea gravel' in accordance with County Standards.
c:\0471\SoiI Report
