Jennifer Jolley
From: Kiriu, Inez[IKiriu@ci.galt.ca.us]
Sent: Wednesday, September 08,2004 3:08 PM
To: jjolley@co.san-joaquin.ca.us'
Cc: Rick Kiriu (E-mail); Home Kiriu (E-mail)
Subject: FW: PA-0400251 (SU)
Please accept this letter as our opposition to the creation of Brittany Lane as part of
application PA-0400251 (SU) . I have been advised by county staff that pursuant to the
master circulation plan, the plan is to eventually extend Brittany Lane east to Bryant.
As I understand the proposal, Brittany Lane will eventually run between the two parcels
007-340-11 and 007-340-12, and intersect the privately owned and maintained road which
is on our western boundary. By crossing Brittany Lane over this private road, access
would be unlimited to residents from the proposed subdivision and any future development;
as well as all motorists in general. This would create traffic, noise, and dust problems.
We enjoy the limited access and believe we paid a premium for this. Opening up
circulation to future development and general motorists should not be at
the expense of current homeowners. Access to Brittany Lane is not needed
similar to Hacienda Drive, which is parallel and west of the proposed
Griffith Gate Lane. Rural residential areas, where parcel sizes are
large, do not require the same level of traffic circulation as dense urban residential
parcels.
Finally, if the project is ultimately approved with the proposed road stub, the County
should be required to take over maintenance of the private road and also pave it
(consistent with public roadway standards) prior to connection of the two streets.
Otherwise, the dust and noise problems will be exacerbated.
As additional conditions/hearings, etc. are presented, I would like to remain
apprised/noticed. Again, pls accept this letter as our opposition to Brittany Lane.
Sincerely,
Rick and Inez Kiriu
9848 E. Jahant Road
Acampo, CA 95220
209.366.7145 (Inez-wk)
209.333 .6800 x2668 (Rick-wk)
I
