n
September 30, 2007
NOA Project Number: E07141A
6 j 4.0 GROUND WATER INFORMATION
4.1 Ground Water Depth and Gradient
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1998 and 1999ground
water depth and elevation maps were reviewed to determine the ground water Ievels near the site.
PThe Fall 1998 and Spring 1999 maps are the most current maps available from the county.
Examination of these maps indicates that no water level data is available for the Tracy/Banta area,
wrade.
IG e si nd no definite comments as to depth or gradient flow direction can be
t ound water s encountered during the drilling of an' 8.5-footb ring on August 31,2
FJ4.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
1
Identifying potential groundwater contamination sources was not part of the scope of work for the
{ soil suitability study.
I
Potential groundwater contamination can occur from a number of sources which often include leaky +
underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems, and storm water infiltration.
Any past agricultural activities, dairies and the present use of septic systems in the area should be
considered potential groundwater contamination sources. Please see section 4.4 for additional water
quality details.
4.3 Water Sample Location
C;Noell permits we found during filereview at the EHD for the subject property. well water
e was en on September 4, 2007 from the faucet of the s on site by Jessen Welch of our
Fi
4.4 Water Sample Constituents
F1 The water sample wa traternd-D CP. BCP was not etected in the wa am le.
Nitrate was fou at 28.0 mg/L-NO3, law-the-maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 45 mg/L-
F1 NO3 set by the U to e analytical reports prepared by FGL Environme e
found in the appendix of this report.
HWell construction, seals, age and depth of the well screens may play significant part in assessing the
levels of Nitrate and DBCP in various aquifers. Without knowing specific details regarding well
construction and condition,it would be difficult to accurately comment on the condition of the /
aquifer. Essentially, the water sample concentration approximately indicates the contaminant
concentration level of the aquifer from which the well is drawing at the time of sampling.
4
0
