Topsoil would be stripped using scrapers and <br /> stockpiled in berms for use in landscape areas and final reclamation. The largest amount of <br /> topsoil stockpiled at one time would be approximately 50,000 cubic yards and will vary as new <br /> areas are opened up and others reclaimed. <br /> The total amount of overburden is approximately 7.4 million cubic yards,an average of seven <br /> feet thick(i.e., 7.4 million cubic yards over 659 acres). The overburden will be stripped by <br /> scrapers and stockpiled in berms, including the landscape berms,prior to use in reclamation. The <br /> berms will be located along the perimeter setbacks. <br /> PIT OPERATIONS <br /> A 71/2 yard excavator will excavate material from the pit and load the pit run material into 40 ton <br /> off-road haul trucks. The haul trucks will transport the pit run material to a feed hopper where <br /> r. the material will be dumped and fed to a series of field conveyors. The field conveyors will <br /> transport the pit run material from the pit bottom to the aggregate plant. The feed hopper and <br /> field conveyors will be moved as new phases are excavated. The series of field conveyors will be <br /> �- extended as the pit becomes farther from the plant.
