6.2 Cumulative Impacts
would be required to avoid impacts to special-status species and/or mitigate to the satisfaction of
the CDFG and USFWS for the potential loss of habitat. By complying with the mitigation
measures provided in Section 4.9, the impacts of the project would not be cumulatively
considerable and the cumulative impact would be less than significant.
Mitigation Measure
Measure 6.9: Implement Mitigation Measures 4.9.2a,4.9.2b, and 4.9.2c to mitigate the
project's incremental contribution to biological resource impacts.
. Impact Significance After Mitigation: With implementation of Mitigation Measures
4.9.2x,4.9.2b, and 4.9.2c, the project's impacts would be mitigated to a less-than-
significant level and therefore, the incremental contribution to cumulative impacts is less
than significant.
Cultural Resources
Impact 6.10: The project's contribution to cumulative impacts to cultural resources is
potentially significant.
Based on existing information from literature searches and field examination, no historical
i' resources were identified on the project site. Mitigation measures have been developed to provide
for any buried resources that might be uncovered during project construction and mining
activities. The project's incremental contribution to cumulative effects of the anticipated impacts
on known and potential archaeological sites would not be cumulatively considerable and the
cumulative impact would be less than significant with implementation of mitigation.
Mitigation Measure
Measure 6.10: Implement Mitigation Measures 4.10.1, and 4.10.2 to mitigate the project's
incremental contribution to cultural resource impacts.
Impact Significance After Mitigation: With implementation of Mitigation Measures
4.10.1 and 4.10.2, the project's incremental impact would not be cumulatively considerable
and the cumulative impact is less than significant.
Visual Resources
Impact 6.11: Implementation of the project has the potential to adversely impact scenic
views of the Coastal.Range Mountains and San Joaquin Valley and contribute to the overall
loss of visual character in the region.
Construction and operation of an aggregate mining facility at the proposed location is likely to
further degrade the visual character of the surrounding area. The project will be highly visible to
at least four homes, three located on the northern side of Blewitt Road immediately east of the
r" RMC Pack vernalis Quarry Mining and Reclamation Project 6-15 ESA/203015
Draft Environmental Impact Report May 2006
