.
YUiai Study—LID Annexation
1.6 Provision of Irrigation Water
Currently, property owners on the Stewart Tract have constructed 10 miles of irrigation canals and a
number of pump stations for drawing irrigation water from the San Joaquin River and Old River systems.
These property owners enjoy riparian and appropriative rights for use of this water. As development
occurs on the Stewart Tract,LID may, under contract with these property owners, operate and maintain
an irrigation system that will be modified from its existing locations as a result of urbanization.
Additionally, LID and/or the City of Lathrop will provide high quality recycled water for agricultural and
urban uses without the River Islands development and the agricultural lands of the Stewart Tract.
16
