LK E/NFELDER
_ Bnggf 4eople.RiyM blotions.
Assessment scope of work. In the event that any subsurface structures are
encountered during site development or excavation on site, care should be
exercised in determining whether or not the subsurface structures contain
asbestos. If they contain asbestos, they should be removed, handled,
transported, and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal
laws and regulations. Additionally, if suspect materials are encountered,
the signatories of this report should be notified. This conclusion remains the
same.
2. Due to the historical agricultural use of the site, it is possible that
environmentally persistent pesticides may have been applied to the site. If
a greater level of inquiry is desired, Kleinfelder can perform soil sampling to
evaluate potential residual pesticides in shallow soil. This conclusion
remains the same.
3. Vanderschaaf, 15355 Van Allen Road, an address associated with the
subject site, appears on the Statewide Environmental Evaluation and
Planning System (SWEEPS UST) database. The USTs at this address are
reported as a 350-gallon diesel UST and a 350-gallon leaded fuel UST.
According to the SJC/EHD UST file, two 350 gallon UST's were removed
from the site in February of 1990. The tanks were a diesel and a gasoline
tank. No violations are reported in association with this facility. These
former USTs had limited information available from the county or from our
owner/manager interviews. The client should be aware that the former
USTs may have leaked and become a source for subsurface petroleum
` contamination. If further inquiry is desired, more detailed information from
people knowledgeable about the UST area is recommended followed by
soil sampling and analyses for petroleum constituents. The site
reconnaissance did not address this; therefore, this conclusion remains the
same.
4. Pole-mounted transformers were noted throughout the site. Blue non-PCB
stickers were noted on several of the pole-mounted transformers. No
leaking or soil stains were noted in association with the transformers and
they do not appear to pose an environmental concern. This conclusion
remains the same.
5. A remnant burn area was noted in the north central portion of APN 205-
100-17. There did not appear to be any hazardous materials or debris
within the burn area. According to Mr. Woltjer, brush and wood clippings
area burn in this area. No hazardous materials or odors were associated
with the burn area; based on this information, it is not currently expected to
have an adverse impact on the site. This conclusion remains the same.
95428.E011ST08R693 July 29,2008
©2008 Kleinfelder Page 19 of 26
