LK DER
18.
Bii9Bthyple.flglf 5aluliom.
18. A small pond of water was located south of the feed pile in the southwest
portion of the site. This pool of water was not observed.
19. Three large ponds are located in the south center of the site (northern
parcel]. The ponds are approximately 1300 feet long and 125 feet wide
each. According to Mr. Dotinga, the ponds are approximately 30 feet deep.
According to Mr. Dotinga, the southern most pond was installed in 1989 and
the northern two ponds are approximately 2-3 years old. According to Mr.
Dotinga, manure and water from the dairy farm is used on the onsite
agricultural fields. If the client desires a further level of inquiry, soil sampling
can be performed for dairy wastes (e.g., fecal chloroform, nitrates, etc.)
near these ponds and land application of animal waste at the site. This
conclusion remains the same.
20. A large soil pile was located on the west end between the two northern
ponds. According to Mr. Dotinga, the soil is from digging the ponds. Based
on this information these soil piles do not appear to pose an environmental
risk. This conclusion remains the same.
21. Smith Ranch, located at 15751 S. Van Allen Road, adjacent to the east of
the southern portion of the site, appears on the Hazardous Substance
Storage Container (HIST) database. The facility appears on the HIST
` database due to two underground storage tanks. Tank number 1 is listed as
a 3,000-gallon regular fuel tank and tank number 2 is a 1,000-gallon regular
fuel tank. No violations are reported in association with this facility. This
` conclusion remains the same.
22. Vanderschaaf Ranch, listed at the same address as Smith Ranch, appears
on the SWEEPS UST database. The facility appears on this database due
to two 250-gallon underground storage tanks, which contain leaded fuel.
This conclusion remains the same.
23. Harry D. Vieira, located at 15312 S. Van Allen Rd., adjacent to the east of
the site, appears on the HIST UST database.
