LK DER
25.
_ Bnghf People.RlgM1t Salu hoof.
25. Doornanbal Farms, located at 14744 Carrolton Road, adjacent to the
` northeast of the subject site, appears on the HIST UST database. The
facility appears on this database due to the presence of a 550-gallon
regular fuel tank. No violates are reported in association with this facility.
This conclusion remains the same.
26. Several offsite USTs have been noted upgradient and near to the subject
site. The client should be aware that although no leaks have been reported
from these tanks, if they were to leak they could contribute to groundwater
contaminants beneath the subject site. This conclusion remains the same.
5.3. ADDITIONAL CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Gravel/dirt roadway soil discoloration was noted in the southern central
portion and eastern border of the northern parcel. Mr. Dotinga has indicated
that the discoloration is due to application of an environmentally acceptable
saline based solution for dust suppression. Based on this information, it
appears this is an acceptable practice at this time. If the client desires a
further level of inquiry, soil sampling can be performed for petroleum products
and/or other type of contaminants potentially used for dust suppression. The
client should be aware that even acceptable methods can create conditions
which may degrade surface and/or groundwater quality, such as runoff of
saline solutions; therefore, application of the current dust control should be
limited to prevent runoff from the application areas.
2. Fe
Is time, ba round wI DW-4 I Gated along the eastern border of the
hould not be sed asa dfinking ater well basedon nitrate as N values
cted at 13 mg/I exceeding Imary MCL of 10 mg/l. If this well is to
be used as a drinking water source well head treatment and/or additional
sampling-And—analyes should be conducted to ensure water quality is in
compliance with state and federal drinking water standards. Kleinfelder
understands the three production wells along the eastern border of the site
are used as supply wells for dairy operations and not for human consumption.
3. Depending of the specific use of the wash-down area noted along the eastern
border of the northern parcel (see Photograph 27), care should be taken to
mitigate potential petroleum and/or other types of contaminants from running
of the pad onto bare soil. If regulated contaminants are being
discharge/rinsed in this area, the runoff should be contained and disposed of
properly. If the client desires a further level of inquiry, soil sampling can be
performed for petroleum products and/or other type of contaminants typically
generated in wash down operations along the downslope edges of the
cement pad.
95428.E011ST08R693 July 29,2008
0 2008 Kleinfelder Page 24 of 26
