k4 KLEINPELDER
Kleinfelder can assist in the evaluation of petroleum impacted soil and disposal
options.
7. A concrete box is located in the open area between the barns and sheds in the
southwestern portion of the site. According to Mr. Dotinga the concrete pad
contained a diesel AST from a previous farmer. Although no significant staining
was noted next to this structure there is a possibility that diesel fuel leaked at this
location and may have impacted subsurface soil. If a greater level of inquiry is
desired, Kleinfelder can perform soil sampling to evaluate diesel fuel constituents
in soil at this location.
8. A large water AST is located south of the milk barn. The water tank does not
- appear to pose an environmental concern to the site.
9. An irrigation pump is located in the center of APN 205-100-17 and on the
western border of APN 205-100-16. No leaking or soil stains were noted in
association with the pumps and they do not appear to pose an environmental
concern.
10.Approximately two irrigation wells/pumps are located on APN 205-100-16.
Approximately four domestic wells are located on APN 205-100-16. There did
not appear to be any staining, leaking or stressed vegetation associated with the
irrigation or domestic wells.
11.Debris was noted in the creek, which included a refrigerator, tractor tires, a dryer,
a water heater, glass, and household debris. The debris should be removed from
the creek. Any petroleum products and/ or hazardous materials encountered
should be disposed of or recycled in accordance with local, state and federal
regulations.
12.Debris piles were noted through out the site, which included household debris,
automobiles, tires, wood boards, wood clippings, household furniture, metal
debris and empty tanks. There did not appear to be any staining, leaking or
stressed vegetation associated with the debris. The debris should be removed
and any petroleum products and/ or hazardous materials encountered should be
disposed of or recycled in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
13.Lone Tree Creek trends east/west through the site. Onsite Culverts were noted
along the creek and several contained water draining into the creek. Diversion
structures are located on the eastern end of the property in Lone Tree Creek.
According to Mr. Dotinga the creek is dammed and this water is used during the
summer. Mr. Dotinga stated the culverts drain water to the creek from the
agricultural land. Please note the runoff from the "agricultural land" can be a
source of nitrates, coliform bacteria and other waste constituents, which can
migrate into surface water and sediments. Kleinfelder recommends evaluating if
the current discharge of water into the creek is according to current laws and
` 67453.P01/ST06R715/RB:Iv Page 34 of 37
©2006 Kleinfelder, Inc.
