PRO PQSEn t
SKI CLUB & LAKE USE
The proposed ski lake is planned to be a private ski club made up of approximately 30 memberships.
Use of the ski lake will be regulated time slots so that there will never be more than one boat on the Iake
at any given time. A member will have the option to either use their own boat or a club boat provided at
the site. It is anticipated that 70%of the members will use the club boat in lieu of bringing their own
boat. Scheduling of lake usage will be regulated by the club and will consist of two (2) am sessions and
two (2)pm sessions for the season. Ski Club use of the lake will be restricted to seasonal use beginning i
in April and ending in November of each year. i
Members of the club will also be entitled to beach use along the San Joaquin River and picnic areas
provided within the development. No overnight camping will be permitted and the maximum number of
members allowed on the site will be restricted to one-half the total number of memberships per day.
EDUCATIONAL USE:
In conjunction with the ski club, the proposed project will provide a restored nature preserve for Parcel 1
and expand it into the majority of Parcel 2. The purpose of the nature preserve is to utilize this unique
habitat setting and to expand on them to provide a private nature preserve that can be used to educate the
youth of our community. The proposed project would consist of guided and self guided tours for various I
youth groups and private and public school programs. Tour groups would be supervised by the facility
manager or their specific organizations. Educational tours would be arranged by the project manager and
the specific organizations. The tours would be limited to one organization per week with a maximum of
2 school buses per group. It is anticipated that the educational tours would be seasonal during the spring
and fall. The proponent of the project has gathered numerous support letters for the project have 4
incorporated them into this application for reference.
STRUCTURES:
Maintenance Building:
The proposed maintenance building would be a permanent building that will provide for storage of
equipment, materials, office space and rest room facilities. Construction of the maintenance facility will
either be elevated on engineered fill above the 100 year flood elevation or firmly anchored to prevent
flotation so as to minimize the effect of flood flows. The structure will not provide for human habitation.
The proposed structure will be designed to meet all requirements set forth by Title 23 of the State Water
Code, Section 9-1605 of the County Development Code and all other codes required by
the agencies having jurisdiction of the San Joaquin River.
1
i
