Soil Suitability Study (MS-92-191 , Parcel. Nos . 1 and 2) 4
On December 1 and 2 , 1992 , two percolation tests were
performed on the subject property under my direction in conformance
with the San Joaquin County Public Health Service, Environmental
Health Division regulations and the San Joaquin County Ordinance
Code Standards .
Percolation Test Hole Nos . P1 and P2 resulted in the
percolation rates and determinations shown on the attached
"Percolation Data Sheet" and are tabulated as follows :
Parcel No. Test Hole Percolation Rate Minimum Usable_
No. (Minutes Per Inch) Disposal Area
( Square Feet )
1 P1 4 . 4 6 , 000
2 P2 6 . 7 6 , 000
Recommendations :
6 , 000 square feet minimum usable disposal areas are
recommended for both Parcel Nos . 1 and 2 to accommodate subsurface
horizontal leaching fields . However , due to the variable nature of
the soil in this general area, if the site selected for development
is at a different location than the site tested, careful note of
the soil character and nature should be taken at the time of
construction at the specific site selected for a planned system and
the discharge of effluent into a combination of leach lines and
seepage pits be considered as an alternate system.
Well Water Analasis :
Two samples of well water were taken , one from the existing
home (domestic well ) at the east boundary and in the middle of
Parcel No . 1 and one from an irrigation well also at the east
boundary line of Parcel No . 1 and a little south of the domestic
well . The water obtained from each of the wells was tested for the
chemical Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) and Nitrate (NO3 ) .
The results of the tests on the sampled water from the
domestic homesite and agricultural well for Dibromochloropropane
(DBCP) and Nitrate (NO3) are tabulated below:
John J . Owens . 8005 East Peltier Road , Acampo, California 95220
