During the month of April is Buddhist New Year Day, which is the first day of a new <br /> Buddhist calendar year. <br /> On the first full moon in May is Vesak Day, which is the birth, enlightenment, and passing <br /> of Buddha. <br /> On the first full moon day in July is Dhamma Cakka Pavattana/Vassa Day, which <br /> commemorates "the turning of the wheel of Dhamma". <br /> On the first full moon in October is the Abhidhamma Day to Sankisa, which is the welcome <br /> celebration after Buddha successfully preached the Abhidhamma Pitaka to celestial abode <br /> for three months and returned to human abode/world. <br /> During the month of November is Kathina Day, which is the celebration of the successful <br /> completion of three months retreat to monks by offering robes. <br /> Religious Classes <br /> Religious classes will be conducted every weekend from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with <br /> attendance of approximately 30 people. <br /> Summer youth classes will be held on weekdays from the last week of June to the end of <br /> August. Classes are held from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br /> No school or daycare is being proposed as a part of this project. <br /> Retreat and Meditation Sessions and Cabins <br /> The facility is also proposing to include retreat sessions in which participants attend <br /> lectures on meditation principles. The long retreats will be held approximately 4 times a <br /> year and will last for 2 weeks and the short retreats will be held approximately 5 times a <br /> year and will last for 3 days. A special one day retreat is also being proposed which will <br /> take place approximately 10 times a year. <br /> The site plan dated July 23, 2012, shows 13 meditation cabins. However, after meeting <br /> with the applicant only 9 meditation cabins are being proposed. Please include this on a <br /> revised site plan. <br /> Signs <br /> As shown on the site plan dated July 23, 2012, signs will have to be consistent with <br /> Development Title Chapter 9-1710.4 (h). One freestanding sign is permitted for each <br /> street frontage of the parcel. <br /> A monument sign can not exceed sixty (60) square feet per sign face nor exceed six (6) <br /> feet in height. A pole sign can not exceed fifty (50) square feet per sign face nor exceed <br /> twenty-five (25)feet in height. All signs must be setback a minimum of five (5) feet from <br /> any future right-of-way line. <br /> 2 <br />
