units come from Developer Fees which are a one-time assessment on new
construction, and they are available only on a temporary basis.
Third, nearly 90% of the District's enrollment is on a Year Round School Schedule
at the present time, including Lodi High School. Not only was Year Round School
absolutely necessary to mitigate overcrowding but it is fast becoming a
prerequisite for receipt of State funding.
Fourth, the District does impose Developer Fees at the maximum rate which are
used to fund interim housing facilities and provide the local share of the State
required matching funds. AB 2926 in 1987 limited the amount of developer fees
that can be charged a builder for mitigation of school overcrowding.
Fifth, out of necessity, the district is now opposing any and all development that
will create an adverse impact on the district's ability to house students unless
adequate measures to mitigate the impact that this project will have on the
district, we will take the position of openly opposing this development.
Thank you for referring this project to our District. If we may provide any
additional information, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
Timothy J
Planning Analyst
cc: Emil Atwood
