September 28, 2004 NOA Project Number: E04106A 3.4 Past Off-Site Potential Sources of Contamination No above-or below-ground potential or known sources of contamination to the subject property were identified from past uses of surrounding properties, except for the following: • A poultry ranch has historically been located across Highway 99 from the subject property since at least 1963. 3.5 Current Off-Site Sources of Contamination ` No above-or below-ground potential or known sources of contamination to the subject property were identified from current uses of the surrounding properties, except for the following: • A pile of debris, including an abandoned vehicle, lies adjacent to the subject property along its eastern property line. Several trucks that appear to be inoperable are parked in the rear yard of one of the residences to the east. 4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES has Paraquat and other agricultural chemical residues may remain on the property. Because the property is to remain agricultural,however,and because there is no evidence that these chemicals No were applied inappropriately,the potential presence of chemical residues on the property is not considered an environmental concern at this time. ` The potential for lead-based paints or asbestos-containing materials to be present on the property was not fully evaluated because the interiors of the residential areas were not inspected. Because the site will continue to be used for agriculture,the storage of agricultural chemicals and a small quantity of fuel on the property is not considered an environmental concern at this time. �. The soil stains observed appeared to be minor; however, the full extent could not be assessed visually. Because the pole-mounted transformer along the property boundary appears relatively new,the potential for leakage of PCB-contaminated oil is considered minimal.
