• Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study 1 rerracon
Sun Valley Express Truck Center■ Acampo, California
August 14, 2017 ■ Terracon Project No. NA177026
Year Source Description
1993 Aerial Land appears vacant with a dark colored area on the central
portion of the site.
2003 Aerial Land appears vacant.
2013 Aerial Land appears vacant.
2016 Aerial Land appears vacant.
Based on a review of the historical information, the site appears to have consisted of undeveloped
and/or agricultural land from as early as 1910 through the mid-1970s and appeared to consist of
vacant land from the 1990s through the present. Copies of selected documents are included in
Appendix C.
• 1.3 Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
1.3.1 Existing On-Site Septic Tank Usage
Based on a review of permits provided by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (EHD), there were no septic tank use permits available; however, one Onsite
Wastewater Treatment System Permit (SR0055174)was issued forfour percolation tests in 2008.
A site diagram indicated two percolation tests were conducted on the northern portion of the site
and two tests were conducted on the southern portion of the site. Based on a review of notes on
the permit, a deep and shallow percolation test (depths not indicated) conducted on the southern
portion of the site failed. A percolation test conducted at 12.3 feet bgs also failed. Notes indicated
on October 31, 2008 a percolation test passed; however, depths, and percolation rates of the
passing test were not noted.
1.3.2 Site Specific Permit History
Refer to Section 1.3.1.
1.3.3 Discussion of On-Site Septic Tank Repair
•
No septic repair permits sites were provided by the EHD.
1.3.4 Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
In an attempt to determine the septic system density for the vicinity of the site, our office reviewed
a recent aerial photograph of the property available from GoogleEarth7m. The vicinity of the site
consists of agricultural land and rural residences. The assumption was made that each
building/cluster of buildings has one septic system. Using this method, we determined there is
an average of 13 systems within Y2 mile of the site. Refer to Section 1.3.5 for a history of septic
permits in the site vicinity.
•
Responsive :: Resourceful Reliable 5
