Revision to Approved Actions
Public Hearing: 3/4/99
:our Client: Mr. Robert Stewart
Dear Mr. Terpstra:
Thank you very much for returninq y call this morning to express
m
the conCerne of your client Mr. Stewart . We were not aware of
his letter to the county until we received a call on February
19th and subsequently the county faxed Mr. Stewart' s letter to
us .
As we understand, based on our telephone conversation this
morning, there are three issues of primary concern to Mr_
Stewart . We will address them in the order received in our
telephone conversation as follows :
1 . Diesel Spraying of Trucks : Apparently this spraying occurs
on River Road prior to entering the Munn & Perkins facility.
Diesel spraying is not allowed on our premises; however, we do
provide a releasing agent on site which does not contain any
hazardous materials and is environmentally safe. (MSDS for this
product enclosed) _ Apparently, some truckers transporting
••asphalt" use diesel spray to release the asphalt from the truck
beds, using 1-2 Gallons of dieeel, per day, on continuous hauls
for eight hours . Most will use a gallon per day. The diesel is
applied by using a "hudson sprayer" , the kind used to spray
weeds . This practice is discouraged and in fact cannot be used
on cal/trans or Public works Projacts -
9ze 12TN STREET • DOST OFFICE BOY 3191 > MODEBTO.
