.. KE6LAMA770NPL4N—Bellino Pit
George Reed,Inc.
Page 4
II. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED MINING OPERATION (continued)
C. Minine Plan
1. Operating Plan
Excavation is by the open pit method beginning at the Southeast comer of Phase I, moving in a
Northerly direction, then continuing in a North to South / South to North configuration. This
course of excavation will continue in Phases 11 and III. Excavation depths average ±35'.
Overburden ranges in depth from 0' to t20', with sand and gravel depths averaging from±12' to
f39'. Excavation will commence within 18 months after obtaining a permit and will terminate
with total reclamation within 12 years, dependent upon demand for materials. Excavation occurs
approximately 180 days in a year. Weather conditions and market factors can alter this
approximation. Excavation activity typically occurs between March — October of each year, and
will be limited to a weekly schedule of Monday — Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except during
periods of declared national, state,or county emergency or inclement weather.
Equipment to be used at the project site consists of:
• Scrapers/Dozers to remove overburden
• Backhoe/Excavator to remove sand and gravel
• Trucks (2) to transport materials to the existing processing facility on the South side of
River Road
• Motor Grader and Scraper to level and contour site for final reclamation
• Water Truck to spread water and dust palliatives within project area
2,3.Topsoil/Overburden
Topsoil / Overburden is stripped, set aside temporarily, then replaced concurrent with excavation.
There will be no stockpiles.
4. Mine Waste
Sand and Gravel will be processed at the existing processing plant located on the North side of the
Stanislaus River, which operates under Waste Discharge Facility Id No. 513392029001. There will
be no waste discharge associated with the excavation under this permit / reclamation plan. All
excavated materials will either be processed or used for reclamation.
D. Size
1. Total Acreage to be permitted: f80
2. Total acreage to be disturbed: t71
3. Total acreage to be reclaimed: ±71
E. Water Requirements
The only water required for the project is used for dust suppression at the excavation site and haul
roads during the removal and transporting of sand and gravel to the processing plant. If conditions
necessitate watering, it is obtained either from the on-site well or the processing plant.
