<br /> CULTURAL-2:The applicant and project contractors shall halt work if human Verification by County,as Union Pacific and San Joaquin County During ground disturbing
<br /> remains are identified during construction.If human remains are uncovered needed construction contractors coroner and Native activities
<br /> during project construction,work should immediately halt within 50 feet of the American Heritage
<br /> find.The applicant shall contact the San Joaquin County coroner to evaluate Commission,with
<br /> the remains and follow the procedures and protocols set forth in Section verification provided to San
<br /> 15054.5(e)(1)of the CEQA Guidelines.If the County coroner determines that Joaquin County Community
<br /> the remains are Native American,the Native American Heritage Commission Development Department
<br /> (NAHC)shall be contacted in accordance with Health and Safety Code as applicable
<br /> Section 7050.5,subdivision(c),and Public Resources Code 5097.98(as
<br /> amended by AB 2641).The NAHC would then identify a Most Likely
<br /> Descendent of the deceased Native American,who would engage in
<br /> consultation to determine the disposition of the remains.Contract specifications
<br /> shall address these requirements.

<br /> paleontological resources are identified during construction.If paleontological needed construction contractors with verification provided to activities
<br /> resources,such as fossilized bone,teeth,shell,tracks,trails,casts,molds,or San Joaquin County
<br /> impressions are discovered during ground-disturbing activities,all ground Community Development
<br /> disturbing activities within 50 feet of the find shall be halted until a qualified Department as applicable
<br /> paleontologist can assess the significance of the find and,if necessary,
<br /> develop appropriate salvage measures in consultation with the project sponsor
<br /> and in conformance with Society of Vertebrate Paleontology Guidelines(SVP,
<br /> 1995;SVP, 1996).Contract specifications shall address these requirements.
