Mr. Stephen R Thumlert <br /> 3 Siegfried Engineering, Inc. <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> Lane also reviewed an aerial photograph provided by the United States Department of Agriculture <br /> (early 1970s) for information regarding historical site uses. <br /> 2.0 PROPERTY DESCRIPTION <br /> 2.1 Site Description <br /> The subject property is located near the center of Section 11, Township 4 North, Range 7 East, <br /> Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, in San Joaquin County, California. The parcel is currently used <br /> as rural residential. One permanent structure is located in the southeastern portion of the property, a <br /> private residence identified as 24270 Sowles Road,.Acampo. Other improvements include a fenced I <br /> horse corral and a small wooden shed with no foundation. The majority of the parcel is currently <br /> undeveloped and is not actively used for agriculture. According to the current property owner, Mr. <br /> David Long, oat hay had been grown on a portion of the property approximately three years ago. <br /> 2.2 Physical Setting <br /> The site is situated on relatively flat terrain, varying in elevation from approximately 95 to 100 feet <br /> above mean sea level. A copy of a partial topographic map (USGS 7 t/2 Minute Quadrangle, <br /> Lockeford, California) is included in Attachment B. No surface water bodies are located within the <br /> property boundaries. However, shallow surface water was present over a small portion of the <br /> property in the north-central portion of the parcel. The southwest flowing Mokelumne River is <br /> located approximately,2.3 miles southeast of the property. <br /> According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's "Soil Survey of San Joaquin County, <br /> California," soil units at the property include Bruella sandy loam and San Joaquin loam. Excerpts <br /> from the USDA Soil Survey report that describe these soil types are included in Attachment C. <br /> 3.0 POTENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS <br /> 3.1 Potential Non-point Sources of Hazardous Materials <br /> The current property owner has no specific knowledge of any chemical usage at the property. Oat <br /> hay was grown on a portion of the property approximately three years ago. An aerial photograph <br /> circa 1970s (USDA) indicates that the parcel was either fallow or used for wheat/hay during that <br /> timeframe. <br /> 3.2 Potential Point Sources of Hazardous Materials <br /> No evidence of surface spilling, underground tanks, above ground tanks, or chemical storage areas <br /> were observed during the site reconnaissance. A copy of an Environmental Site Assessment <br /> Questionnaire completed by Mr. Long is included in Attachment D. Attachment D also includes an <br /> environmental database report for the property pursuant to ASTM Designation E-1528, Standard <br />!� Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Transaction Screen Process. The site address does <br /> not appear on any databases covered by the report. <br /> The residence, located in the northwestern portion of the parcel, was reportedly built in 1978.
