Soil Suitability Study--APN: 229—160—01--Parcel Nos. A and B; 11.53 & 10.71Acres,respectively--2
Discussions with the property owner revealed that the subject property had been
under his ownership for at least twenty(20)years and he has devoted the land to only
agricultural pursuit. The long time family ownership was confirmed by a search of the
San Joaquin County Assessor and Recorder Offices' records, which revealed that the
subject property has been in the Jones family for at least thirty (30)years. Considering
the long time agricultural use of the general area the property is situate in, and the long
time agricultural use by the Jones' family, there is no apparent evidence that indicates the
property has been subjected to either business or industrial use.
Property Description: On Monday,March 4, 2002,the subject property was reviewed in
the field. The improvements that have been constructed and the various vehicles and farm
implements stored on the subject property are shown on in the photographs contained in
the Appendix entitled"Photographs of the Property Owners,Residence, Storage Sheds,
Vehicles and Farm Equipment" which is attached to and made an integral part of this
report. Colored photographs are not included in this study report but are available for
viewing in my"Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report", dated April 10, 2002 for
this subject property.
The constructed improvements and storage yard area are situate about five(5) feet above
the almond orchard surrounding the improved area to the east, west and north due to
leveling the orchard area.
To better understand the views shown in the photographs a description of the
areas being viewed are described as follows:
1A—Identification sign at the east-west dirt access road to the subject property off the
east side of Steinegul Road looking north.
1B—Looking north at the almond orchard in full bloom from the dirt access road near the
south east corner of the subject property.
1 C—Midway on the dirt access road looking west towards Steinegul Road.
11)—At the easterly end of the dirt access road looking west.
2 A & 2B—Looking west from a point about midway on the dirt access road at farm
implements stored along the access road.
2C—Looking north at a typical S.S.J.I.D. irrigation pipe and valve along the dirt access
road.
