The letter states concern regarding groundwater, including potential
impacts to the soil and water wells on adjacent properties from project operations and processed
wastewater ponds.
Groundwaster: The project applicant must submit an application for Waste Discharge Requirements to
the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board prior to development of the ponds. The
evaporation ponds would be designed in accordance with Title 27 regulations and monitored regularly.
Title 27 of the California Code of Regulations specifies Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs)for waste
management units, facilities, and disposal sites. As such, these requirements will be included in the
Conditions of Approval for the project site. With these-added conditions of approval for the project site,
any impacts to groundwater will be reduced to a less-than-significant level.
San Joaquin County PA-1800037/Musco Olive
Community Development Page 5
